At our recent AR and VR community social hour with Design Reality, I showed you how to build an interactive AR app in less time than it takes to finish a beer. Then I challenged you to make your own AR apps to share with me at the Monday, September 23, Design Reality meetup to win prizes and glory. *Use the code Torch to save on your tickets.
Here’s how to participate
1. Download Torch AR for free on any ARKit compatible iOS device and sign up.
2. Build an app with Torch AR. The theme is: AR is for Communication—introduce yourself or an idea using AR and use at least one interaction trigger and response.

3. Activate and share a Viewer Link app with Nathan@torch3d.com, or Joshua@reflectivebrands.com. Watch this video to learn how to activate your Viewer Link.
How to win prizes and glory
- All apps will be shared at the 9/23 Design Reality Meetup during networking time for voting
- The Design Reality Meetup Audience will scan Viewer Links, play your AR apps, and vote for the most creative or innovative experience.
- You must share an app with the organizers via email before the event to participate. The deadline to apply is 11:59 pm Sunday, September 22, 2019
- Apps should use at least one interaction trigger and response
- Multiple submissions are OK
- *Record a video of your app and share on social media with #BuiltWithTorch for added glory & prize opportunities.
- *Attendance not required to win
Prizes for the top 3 experiences. *Additional prizes may be added depending on the number of submissions.

- Free ticket to XR Foundations for Business ($60 value)
- $25 The Jasmine Pearl Tea Co.
Essentially we want to see your creations. Spend a few days putting together something exciting with Torch and send us the viewer link. We will print out the QR codes for the event on the 23rd. Attendees to the event can use iOS devices to scan the codes to experience your apps.
Each audience member, you included, will be given a few voting stickers. They will then place the stickers on the experiences they like the best. At the end of the night, we will count all the votes, and select our winners!

Official Rules
The Torch AR Happy Hour Contest (the "Contest") is subject to these Official Rules, which are binding and final on matters relating to the Contest, except as expressly stated otherwise. No purchase necessary to enter or win. The Contest is sponsored by Torch 3D (the “Sponsor”).
How to Enter: Email submissions only.
- Before the end of the Contest Period, email your Viewer Link to Nathan@torch3d.com, or Joshua@reflectivebrands.com by 11:59 pm Sunday, September 22, 2019. Submissions should include your name and a title. Submissions should include at least one interaction trigger and response.
Eligibility: The Contest is open worldwide to anyone who submits an app by the deadline. Eligible minors must have permission from a parent or legal guardian in order to participate in the Contest. Employees of Torch its affiliates, Contest supervisors and members of their immediate families, are not eligible to participate or win.
The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations. Void where prohibited.
Contest Period: The Contest begins on Sept. 10 at 5 PM, WESTERN TIME, and ends on Sept. 22 at 11:59PM WESTERN TIME (the “Contest Period”). Submissions must be received during the Contest Period to be eligible to win.
Prizes: If eligible under these Official Rules, prizes will be rewarded to the Selected contestants as follows: Multiple prizes will be available for the winner to select from and the total prize pool will include at least 1 of each of the following.
- $50 Amazon gift card
- Free ticket to XR Foundations for Business ($60 value)
- $25 The Jasmine Pearl Tea Co.
Submission Criteria:
- Submissions must be submitted according to the How to Enter section and directly accessible by Sponsor and any other person from the link you provide.
- Submissions may not contain personal attacks on anyone or any discernible product.
- Submissions may not depict nudity, animal cruelty, any illegal activity or substance, or any other offensive or obscene subject matter as determined in Sponsor’s sole discretion.
- Submissions must be appropriate for a broad audience.
- Sponsor reserves the right to exclude any Submission that it believes, in its sole discretion, doesn't meet this criteria or otherwise violates these Rules, and to delete or otherwise remove any such Submission from any and all location(s) under Sponsor’s control.
Winner Selection and Notification of Selected Entrant: All Submissions will be prescreened to ensure compliance with the Submission Criteria and with Sponsor’s general standards and practices prior to any judging (“Qualified Submissions”).
Winners will be determined by audience vote at the Sept. 23, 2019 event. Winners not present at the event will be notified via email.
ENTRANTS WILL NOT BE SPECIFICALLY PAID FOR THEIR SUBMISSIONS or for granting Sponsor any of these rights.
Ownership
All apps will remain the property of their creators. By participating in the contest you agree to allow Torch to share, record and otherwise document your app within the contest and award presentation for use in documentation and promotions. Users who wish to may de-activate their viewer links after the contest to remove their apps from public view.
Privacy: The information you provide will be used only in accordance with Sponsor’s privacy policy, located at https://www.torch.app/privacy-policy.
In the event that any provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable or illegal, these rules shall otherwise remain in effect and shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or illegal provision were not contained herein. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any provision in these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
Disputes: Disputes regarding these Official Rules and/or this Contest will be governed by the internal laws of the State of Oregon. Decisions of Sponsor are binding and final. No claimant in any dispute involving Sponsor shall be entitled to claim or obtain indirect, punitive, incidental or consequential damages.
